Customers no longer have to wait for the withdrawal operation.
The Mir payment system is going to expand the use of functionality for deferred debiting of funds from its cards. If now it is only available for paying for public transport, it will soon be extended to taxis, carsharing and marketplaces. About it writes RBC.
It is reported that already in the spring of 2024, banks will be able to carry out pending transactions on cards, the details of which are stored with the seller. A list of goods and services will also be approved, when paying for which it will not be possible to use deferred debiting of funds.
The representative of the National Payment Card System (NSPK) noted that the use of delayed authorization will improve the speed and quality of service card holders "Mir" in cases where the operation in real time is impossible due to lack of communication or takes too much time.
The risks of illegal debiting of money from the client's card, as well as for the impossibility of debiting funds in full, will be borne by the acquiring banks that serve the seller.
Currently, the vast majority of card transactions are carried out in real time, when funds are debited from them immediately.
