Who do dogs listen to more - men or women? Scientists have found the answer

And it's not "who has more yummy".
Dogs are considered "man's best friends," but the new study shows that it is more appropriate to call them "women's best friends". As it turned out, they listen to them more attentively.
To come to this conclusion, scientists from the Eötvös Lorand University (Hungary) analyzed functional magnetic resonance imaging of animals while listening to recordings with human votes.
The results showed that pets are more sensitive to speech addressed to dogs and babies. Moreover, this effect is enhanced if a woman speaks. This may be due to the fact that they are more likely than men to speak with exaggerated prosody.
The authors of this work concluded that dogs, like small children, respond better to higher voices.
What makes this result particularly interesting is that in dogs, unlike infants, this sensitivity cannot be explained either by an ancient reaction to signals from relatives, or by intrauterine exposure female voice.

This is the first neural evidence that dogs' brains are wired for speech that is addressed specifically to them, and is especially sensitive to the female voice. If everything is more or less clear with the first conclusion (probably the result of domestication), then the second one has no explanation yet. Scientists plan to continue research to find a connection between this pattern.
