The Russian station "Luna-25" crashed while trying to descend

At Roskosmos reported about the loss of the Luna-25 station - the spacecraft "ceased to exist as a result of a collision with the surface of the moon."

The collision was confirmed the day after communication with the station was lost. Representatives of the corporation clarified that the device collided with the Earth satellite due to the deviation of the actual parameters of the impulse to form its pre-landing elliptical orbit.

A specially formed interdepartmental commission will deal with the issues of clarifying the reasons for the loss of Luna-25.

Recall that Luna 25 was launched 11th August. The station could become the first domestic device on the surface of the satellite since 1976. The main purpose of the mission was to practice a soft landing near the South Pole.

Remarkably, just the other day, on August 23, another station, the Indian Chandrayaan-3, will attempt to land on the moon. Her pre-landing preparations are still going according to plan, so perhaps India will have better luck.
