Scientists disprove the use of "computer" glasses that block blue light

It's just a successful marketing legend.
An international team of scientists tested the properties of so-called computer glasses, which block blue light from screens, and came up with conclusionthat in fact they are useless for eye protection.
Researchers from the University of Melbourne (Australia), Monash University (Australia) and City University London (UK) studied 17 papers by their colleagues from six countries. Depending on the scale, they involved from 5 to 156 people, and the duration varied from one day to five weeks.
It turned out that none of them has convincing evidence of the effectiveness of blue light blockers. They do not affect the general condition of the eyes, do not improve the quality of sleep and do not increase visual performance, as stated in the commercials advertising them.
The amount of blue light our eyes receive from artificial sources such as screens computers, is about a thousandth of what we get from the natural daily Sveta. You should also keep in mind that these glasses can only filter out 10-25% of blue light, depending on the specific product. To be effective, their lenses must have a clear amber tint, which will significantly affect the perception of color.

Scientists acknowledge that a more extensive study is needed to draw firm conclusions. For example, it is not yet possible to draw any conclusions about the long-term use of glasses. However, intermediate results are enough to understand that lenses to protect the eyes from blue light are a legend invented by marketers.
