A big update of "Yandex Browser" for iPad and Android tablets has been released

Yandex spoke about major updates to its browser for tablets on iOS and Android. To bring the mobile browser closer to the desktop one, the appearance of the upper panel and the "Scoreboard" was brought closer to how the "Yandex Browser" looks on a computer. Also added a number of new features and improvements.

Tab groups are now available on tablets. They work in the same way as on the desktop and simplify page navigation by dividing the space into thematic blocks.

The panel with tiles for quick access to sites (aka "Scoreboard") can now be customized. To do this, click the plus icon and enter the site address manually or select from the suggested ones. Previously, only the sites that you visit most often were displayed here, without the ability to add something of your own.

After the update, when you type in the search bar, in the hint box, not only links and suggestions for completing the search phrase appear, but also relevant words that can be added to the query. So far, the feature is only available on the iPad, but will later appear on Android tablets.

Another innovation for iPad users is support for keyboard shortcuts. The same keyboard shortcuts are available as in the macOS version of the browser: ⌘ + F to search the page, ⌘ + W to close the active tab, and more. If you hold down ⌘ for a couple of seconds, a list of available shortcuts will appear.

The distribution of the update has already begun. If you already have Yandex Browser installed, it will be enough to update and restart it.
