Google Pixel Watch 2 will be able to work for several days without recharging

Thanks to the UWB chip, the watch will be able to open car doors - but not in Russia.
Google is preparing to significantly improve battery life in the second generation of Pixel Watch. About it informs Camila Wojciechowska, an Android Authority contributor who previously provided credible information about Pixel devices prior to their release. She claims that her source is an insider from Google.
According to new information, the Pixel Watch 2 will have a noticeable processor upgrade: Samsung Exynos 9110 (10nm, 2018) will be replaced by Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 (4nm, 2022). The new chip is not only more powerful, but also energy efficient. It also supports new energy-saving features such as deep sleep and hibernation, which will significantly improve the watch's battery life.
The battery capacity will also increase slightly: from 294 to 306 mAh. The Verge notesthat thanks to this, the second generation Pixel Watch will be able to provide several days of battery life, while the first one claims up to 24 hours of operation on a full charge.
The Pixel Watch 2 will also be the first Android watch to receive an Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. It provides more accurate tracking of gadgets on the map and unlocking cars with Android Digital Car Keys. Another possible application is the transfer of content playback to another source. For example, Apple allows you to transfer playback from your iPhone and HomePod by touching the speaker with your smartphone. The new Pixel Watch will in theory be able to do the same with the Nest or Pixel Tablet in the dock. True, not in Russia: our UWB frequencies are still busy.
In addition to autonomy, the first generation was criticized for the large frames around the screen, but it seems that Google will not get rid of them yet. The display will remain a 1.2-inch OLED with a resolution of 384×384 pixels, but Samsung Display will be responsible for production, not BOE, as was the case with the first generation.
Google Pixel Watch 2 release dates have not yet been disclosed, but it is possible that this watch will be released in the fall - along with smartphones Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
