One of the major components that determine the quality of the photo - the angle from which it was made. Even if the subject is - in itself is very interesting, and you follow the basic laws of composition, always remember - unusual perspective will make the photo truly memorable and spectacular.
Emil Pakarklis, creator site for lovers of iPhoneography published 9 simple and useful tips on how to find the perfect angle, taking photos using the iPhone. Illustrative examples - are included.
1. Navigate to improve composition
Wherever you take photos, do not ever forget about the balance of the composition. The angle from which you are making a photo - a very strong influence on its horizontal and vertical balance. Let's look at an example.
In this photo, my object - a tree in the front plane and the mountains - in the background. Horizontal balance right - two items are located at opposite edges, and do not interfere with each other, but with Vertical balance is different: on the upper half of the picture there is nothing at all interesting and all visual load It is at the bottom.
Now, let's look at the same picture from a different angle. The following photo was taken from the same place as the previous one, but this time the iPhone is raised above and slightly inclined to the ground:
As you can see, now the opposite is true - nothing interesting at the bottom and visual load - in the upper half. The head immediately comes the idea to put the mountain and tree in the center of the composition, but even then we can not get rid of the void at the top and bottom, and the middle is too loaded.
However, I was able to solve the problem just came to a tree closer. The composition is advantageously added shadow and located in the bottom third. Wood took a part of the top and middle of the mountains and a tree split in half. Hopefully, this example clearly demonstrates that sometimes the perfect composition can be, literally, a few steps away from you.
2. Do not take photos from the heights of their own eyes
We look at the world with their eyes and with their same height - prefer to take pictures, it is natural. However, in many situations, you have to abandon it. For example, photos of children and animals will be much more successful if you make them with the height of the object, as if trying to look at the world through his eyes.
3. Come closer... closer!
A great way to make your photos more alive - to come closer to the subject. Photos taken close-up, often convey a sense of intimacy, which, as a rule, can only be experienced in real life.
By the way, have you noticed that the photo was taken from a height of cat's eyes?
4. Add your photos prospects
If possible, try to choose the angle from which you will open the prospect. There are several ways to do this. If your object - very far, adding to the fore another, but much larger, as shown in the photo below.
If the background extends into the distance, you can show the prospect, taking a position above the object being photographed. I took this picture, standing on the stairs, so that my object - a silhouette of a woman - was lower than the long street in the background.
Another way to gain perspective - to arrange iPhone as low as possible, down to the ground level. This has the effect, in which small objects in the foreground are very large, and in contrast with them - a prospect appears in the background.
5. Add interesting reflections
A simple way to improve your photos, and the variety of pictures made by the water - is to add a reflection.
Personally, I, like more pictures, which was captured and the object and its reflection, and their sizes are about the same. Of course, to make such a picture, you need to arrange iPhone almost above the water surface, so be careful.
And, if you still dare, then remember that a similar perspective - every minimal disturbance water surface looks massive and distort the reflection, which also add photos and perspectives singularity.
6. Add shadows
Many of the photos could be much better if the composition just add shadows (remember the example of the tree). This technique works even better if you're shooting at dusk or dawn, when the shade is particularly clear and long.
To make sure that the shadow fits well with the song - look at her as a full-fledged object. As a rule, the surface on which the shadow should take a substantial part of the photo.
7. Remove from the height of the hip
Shoot by positioning the camera at hip height - one of the best ways to take a fresh look at the pictures of people in their daily lives. By changing the angle so that you can make a photo more dynamic and interesting.
If you want, you can also get on their knees to control the process, and you can just drop the iPhone on the level of the hip, adding to the process a little accident.
8. Turn the iPhone, to add dynamics
Who said that you need to take pictures holding the camera directly, and make perfectly horizontal photo? For some unknown reason, this is what we do in 99% of cases. However, often simply by turning and tilting the iPhone you can make a photo is not like the others, and much more interesting.
This is one of my favorite photos taken on the iPhone, and that makes it special is the slope. Sure, people can not go at an angle in real life, so the picture looks slightly surreal.
9. Keep experimenting
Never stop experimenting with angles of your photos. Do not take photos of people and things as it was possible to see through their eyes - a look from a different angle and you will see how the picture will change. Do not rush to press the button, after a good picture takes time and imagination.
