Most likely, it will be a prequel or a spin-off.
Ten years have passed since the release of Season of Storms, the last book in the Witcher saga, and 24 years since the release of The Lady of the Lake, which concludes Geralt's story. Since then, the author of the novels, Andrzej Sapkowski, has given various hints of a sequel, but never said anything definitive. Now he finally confirmed working on a new book.
According to the writer, he is "pretty hard" working on a new story and plans to finish it within a year.
Nothing is known about what the book will be about, but it is safe to say that it will not be a continuation of the story of Geralt and Yennefer. Even at the Polish Comic-Con, when asked about the possible development of events after the “Lady of the Lake”, Sapkowski answered a firm “no”.
The story is complete, the saga is complete, so if I ever write something in the Witcher universe, and I definitely have that intention, it will probably be some kind of prequel or spin-off. Not a sequel.

This means that the new book may cover some events before the final part of the saga, Ciri's journey, or even Geralt's youth. What would you like to learn from the new book? Write in the comments.
