Can the MacBook Air 11 "replace the laptop and tablet combination?

Today, I want to introduce you to my little translation notes Charles Moore for technologytell.com. Topic close to many, because when two or three years ago, we all rushed to buy tablets, no one thought to whether they will be able to fully replace personal computers. And, as it became clear later - not replace. But the "back", giving iPad will not be easy by unprecedented mobility. Still, it is worth whether to sell outlived its time to buy iPad and MacBook Air 11 "?
For me, computers have always been connected with the activities of the text, whether it is work or communication. In 2011, I bought the iPad 2, hoping that it will become a viable alternative to a laptop, at least in regard to the simple work tasks. This curiosity was more. Everyone knows that the iPad - a great way to consume the most varied content, but can you use it to create this content? Honestly, no.
Now, after two years of iPad use, I understand why the majority has been set up so critical. iPad is ideal for Web-surfing and viewing media content, suitable for e-mail, but it is absolutely worthless when it comes to work I used to do with your computer. No, it can never replace a laptop, at least - for me. On the other hand, Portable lets you work anywhere in my home and anywhere in the city. Of course, from such benefits will be difficult to refuse.
Thus, despite the inconvenience, I continued to do most of the work on the tablet. Tablet, as I have said, many good points, but not in regard to word problems. The inability to quickly switch between multiple windows, the lack of file folders - all seriously get on your nerves, imagine even upload images to FTP-server and insert them into the material.
Some extol iPad because it forces you to focus on a single application, but I do not see anything useful. If for a moment to forget about ergonomics, mouse and keyboard - that's what I inevitably pulls.
So, it took a long time and my iPad and Mac needed to be replaced. I began to think about the option that has the potential to replace both of them - 11-inch MacBook Air.
New iPad Air gave unprecedented for a tablet strength of 64-bit processor A7, but the shortcomings that I have mentioned - have not gone away. iOS 7 also did not change anything in this respect. You know, I've updated your old iPad to seven and as many regretted it.
On the other hand, the new MacBook Air - omnipotent workstation that is not inferior to its 13-inch elder brother in most characteristics. Moreover, the operating system allows me to keep all my projects in one place, and switch instantly and pleases many in between. Many do not like laptops for "eternal search for the outlet", but the 11-inch Air battery lasts almost as much as on iPad.
Work on Mac organized incredibly convenient, documents pertaining to different projects or tasks can be opened on different desktops and switch between them instantly. You will not see this on Windows. it is also not possible on the iPad - it all goes to full screen, and all that you have heard about multitasking on the iPad... unfortunately this myth. It is absolutely not viable, if your work involves word processing, browser, dozens of tabs in it, messenger and even a couple of programs. Recall, these primitive times, like copying and pasting text on the iPad - they drive me crazy. And no matter how many developers did not invent innovations, control of the fingers will never be a more efficient and faster than the mouse.
On the other hand, MacBook, even tiny MacBook Air, after the iPad seems to be unwieldy and cumbersome. Reading e-books on it will never compare to what I'm used on iPad. At the same time, it is too small to ensure the comfort of working with a full-fledged workstation, such as a MacBook Pro or iMac. Thus, I came to the conclusion that perhaps it makes sense to continue to use iPad for the tasks with which he copes perfectly and desktop Mac - for what iPad useless. Probably ever come a time when the plates will be a worthy substitute for laptops, but certainly not today.

One can not but agree with the author that the performance of the work with the text on the iPad can be a torture and bulky laptops home - you can not take an everywhere?
