Researchers from the University of Science and Technology MISiS, together with the Skolkovo Research Center, have developed the Komarik self-injection device. For the first time it showed at the economic forum in St. Petersburg in June, and now they have opened pre-orders for everyone.
"Komarik" is designed to facilitate the performance of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections for those who are afraid of injections or are not confident in their ability to perform the procedure correctly. The creators claim that the introduction of the needle is almost instantaneous, which reduces or completely eliminates pain.
A regular disposable syringe is inserted inside the device - a standard volume of 2, 3 or 5 ml is suitable. After closing the lid, the needles are almost invisible. On the body, you can adjust the depth of needle insertion and the release rate of the drug (in accordance with the doctor's recommendations). There are light and sound indications, as well as protection against accidental and repeated operation.
The control is completely electronic, the data can be synchronized with the application on the smartphone and sent to the hospital for control. "Komarik" is powered by a battery: a full charge is enough for about 20 injections. The expected service life is 1000 injections, the manufacturer gives a one-year warranty.
The gadget has successfully passed pilot testing on the basis of the Moscow Kommunarka center.
"Komarik" was estimated at 7,000 rubles, but official website it can already be pre-ordered at a discount for 4,990 rubles. The start date for deliveries has not yet been disclosed.
