To begin with, it is worth pointing out the difference between leaving the server and deleting it. If you are tired of the community and you are no longer interested in the content, just leave it. This can be done with any server, regardless of your role in it. However, this is not a deletion.

You can completely delete only your own server, along with all the contents. Therefore, you must be the owner. Neither moderators, nor administrators, nor even co-owners have such rights.

Removing the server will terminate the existence communities. All channels and messages on the server will also be deleted, and Discord members will be automatically kicked without any prompts or notifications.

How to delete a server in Discord on a smartphone

Find the unwanted server on the main tab and make sure you own it: there will be a crown icon next to the nickname.

Tap on the three dots and select "Settings".

Go to the "Overview" section and at the very bottom find and click the "Delete server" button.

Confirm the action by clicking Yes. After that, the server will be completely deleted and disappear from Discord.

How to delete a server in Discord on a computer

The messenger client has the same interface in the web version and desktop applications for Windows, Mac and linux, so it doesn't matter which one you use. To remove, do the following.

Open the server from the sidebar and make sure you are the owner of the project, as indicated by the crown icon next to the name.

Click on the name of the server and then select "Server Settings" from the drop-down menu.
