Samsung showed the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic with a rotating bezel

As part of the Unpacked summer presentation, Samsung, together with folding smartphones introduced a new generation of branded smart watches - the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic models. The latter again received a rotating mechanical bezel.

The basic version will be available in 40mm and 44mm with a silicone strap, while the classic version will be available in 43mm and 47mm with a leather strap. The case is IP68/5ATM water resistant in all cases, but there is also MIL-STD-810H certification guaranteeing shock resistance.

In addition to the return of the bezel, the watches in this series are distinguished by a narrower screen frame - on the Galaxy Watch 6 it is 30% narrower than the Galaxy Watch 5, and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is 15% narrower than the Galaxy Watch 4 classic.

Watch screens:

• Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm) and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (43mm): 1.3-inch Super AMOLED, 432×432 pixels;

• Galaxy Watch 6 (44mm) and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (47mm): 1.5-inch Super AMOLED with 480×480 pixels.

In all cases, the full color Always On Display mode and automatic screen brightness with a peak rate of 2000 nits are supported, as in Apple Watch Ultra. The screens of all versions are covered with sapphire crystal.

The watch has the same filling: a dual-core Exynos W930 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The chip runs at 1.4GHz, which is 200MHz faster than the Exynos W920 used in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. The OS is One UI 5 Watch based on Wear OS 4.

In terms of sensors and sensors, a complete set: accelerometer, barometer, body composition analyzer, compass, ECG, GPS, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, light sensor and temperature sensor.

The watch can track over 100 types of workouts. At the same time, real-time data about them can be displayed on large screens, such as Galaxy tablets or Samsung smart TVs.

Separately, among the new features of the Galaxy Watch 6, the manufacturer noted improved sleep tracking. Now after measuring total sleep time, phases, awake time, physical and mental recovery watch will show personalized tips to improve sleep quality and provide detailed feedback. The company developed these features with the help of the National Sleep Foundation.

The new sleep mode also integrates with a paired smartphone and SmartThings-compatible smart home devices to create the "perfect sleep environment."

Other interesting features include new options for remote control of the smartphone camera, personalized heart rate zones and the Thermo Check app. The latter allows you to check the temperature of the environment, food and water. And this function does not require physical touch on the object.

• Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm) and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (43mm): 300mAh, 10W wireless charging;
• Galaxy Watch 6 (44mm) and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (47mm): 425mAh, 10W wireless charging.

The 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in Graphite and Gold, while the 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in Graphite and Silver. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is available in black and silver.

Both models will be available in versions with Bluetooth and LTE. The prices are as follows:

• Galaxy Watch 6 - from $299 (≈27,000 rubles);
• Galaxy Watch 6 Classic - from $ 399 (≈36,000 rubles).
