New feature in Windows 11 will reduce power consumption and increase PC autonomy

A new settings section will help you find out which programs are draining the battery and increasing electricity consumption.
Microsoft tests a new feature that will allow users to better monitor and control the power consumption and charge of computers on Windows 11. So, in the new test assembly of the system for developers, they found the “Power and battery” settings section. It displays the power consumption and graph of the PC battery consumption. This is a desktop solution, which is similar to a similar section for laptops.
The items "Power consumption" and "Battery consumption" are designed to show users how much electricity their computer spends, and how this affects the environment. How exactly this will work is not yet clear: for now, this section does not display real data, but simply a stub. It looks like only the interface is being tested right now, not the function itself.
In addition to displaying the computer's power consumption, the application will also provide statistics for each running program. It will display power consumption, battery usage, and the app's active and background time.
The new section has not yet been officially presented and it cannot be included independently even in beta: this will require special software. It is not known when it will appear in the stable version of Windows 11.
Meanwhile on laptops in the section of recommendations for energy saving added two new tips: turn on dark theme and adaptive screen refresh rate to save battery. Clicking on these items leads to the corresponding item in the settings.
These recommendations are available to users of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23506. They are not in the stable build yet.
