In the battle with the flagships, he lost only to the iPhone.
Youtuber from the TechDroider channel decided to compare the autonomy of the new Nothing Phone (2) with current flagships: iPhone 14 Pro Max, Pixel 7 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Pro And One Plus 11.
All smartphones have FHD+ resolution set (except for the iPhone, which cannot change the standard 2796 × 1290 pixels, which is slightly more than FHD +) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the brightness is calibrated to identical values. The screen sizes are the same - 6.7 inches. Among the five models, the OnePlus 11 and Pixel 7 Pro have the largest battery (5,000 mAh each), while the iPhone has the smallest capacity at 4,323 mAh. Nothing Phone (2) and Xiaomi 13 Pro have 4,700 and 4,820 mAh batteries, respectively.
During the test on smartphones, the same actions were performed, simulating everyday workload. So, for starters, they played mobile PUBG for 2.5 hours (with identical graphics settings). Such an intense load seriously discharged and heated all smartphones, the results are in the screenshot below (white number is the remaining charge, red is the temperature in degrees Celsius).
Next - an hour and a half in a benchmark that simulates the active use of Chrome on Android smartphones and Safari on the iPhone. Here's how the charge level and temperature changed after that:
The next stage is 3 hours of watching YouTube videos. This completely drained Xiaomi 13 Pro, while the rest were still in service. Moreover, the iPhone had more than half the charge left.
Next — 1.5 hours of watching videos in Instagram stories*. This test did not survive the Pixel 7 Pro, while the iPhone did not even drop to 40%.
The remaining three smartphones reached the finish line. They turned on video recording in 4K and left it to full discharge. The resulting battery life turned out like this:
- Xiaomi 13 Pro - 5 hours and 38 minutes;
- Google Pixel 7 Pro - 8 hours and 47 minutes;
- OnePlus 11 - 9 hours and 49 minutes;
- Nothing Phone (2) - 10 hours and 25 minutes;
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max - 11 hours and 13 minutes.
It is noteworthy that among the presented devices, the iPhone has the highest screen resolution, but at the same time the smallest battery capacity. But this usually does not prevent Apple's flagships from coming out winners in such tests of autonomy.
