Google releases Nearby Share app for sharing files between Windows and Android

Google announced about the official launch of the Nearby Share app for Windows PC. It has been available in beta since March of this year.

Google notes that more than 1.7 million people installed the beta during testing, transferring more than 50 million files between PCs and Android devices.

With today's official launch, Google is adding a couple of improvements to the app:

• The first is the display of the estimated time until the completion of the file transfer, so that the user can understand how long it will take to send large folders or, for example, videos.
• The second improvement is that device notifications now have image previews to help you make sure you're receiving the right file.

Neighborhood Sharing requires a computer with 64-bit version of Windows 10 or Windows 11, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules to work correctly.
