Honor reveals the Magic V2, the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone

Chinese company Honor introduced folding smartphone Magic V2. And so far it is the thinnest and lightest gadget in its class.

Both smartphone displays received an OLED LTPO matrix with a frequency of up to 120 Hz and support for a stylus. The internal screen is 7.92 inches, with a resolution of 2344 × 2156 pixels and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The external one is 6.43 inches, 2376 × 1060 pixels and up to 2500 nits.

The main camera consists of three modules - two at 50 megapixels and one at 20 megapixels with support for a telephoto lens that provides zoom up to 40x. There are two front cameras and both are 16 megapixels - they are embedded in the outer and inner displays.

At the heart of the gadget is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version chipset, making it the most powerful foldable smartphone in the world. The amount of RAM is 16 GB, built-in - from 256 GB to 1 TB. The terabyte version is called the Honor Magic V2 Ultimate, has an eco-leather cover and will ship immediately with a stylus.

The novelty received a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging at 66 watts. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, infrared, NFC module and a fingerprint scanner built into the side panel. The smartphone runs on Android 13 with Magic OS 7.2 interface.

The titanium alloy hinge is rated for 400,000 folds. When folded, the thickness of the Honor Magic V2 case is 9.9 mm, when unfolded it is 4.7 mm. The glass version weighs 237 grams, while the eco-leather version is even lighter at 231 grams.

The junior version (16/256 GB) was priced at 8,999 yuan (≈113,700 rubles), the middle version (16/512 GB) at 9,999 yuan (≈126,300 rubles). The most advanced version (16/1 TB) will cost 11,999 yuan (≈151,600 rubles). Pre-orders in China have already started, and the smartphone will go on sale on July 20.
