The average temperature on Earth has updated a historical maximum

This is the third record this week.
The average temperature on Earth on July 7 updated its maximum for the entire history of observations. This is evidenced data University of Maine (USA), which uses satellite data and computer simulations to measure the state of the planet.
This is the third record this week. So, on Monday, July 3, the average air temperature on the planet for the first time exceeded +17 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, July 4, it was already +17.18 degrees, and on Thursday, July 7, it reached +17.23 degrees.
For example, in the Chinese county of Jingxing, the weather last Thursday was debilitatingly dangerous - a thermometer rose up to 43.3 degrees Celsius.
University of Pennsylvania climatologist Michael Mann, citing study 2021, notes that these are the hottest days in at least the last 120 thousand years - since the Ice Age.
At the same time, scientists note that such drumming of records is a sign of a much more serious problem. The exact numbers are not as important as what causes them. We are talking about the so-called El Niño - these are cyclic fluctuations in the temperature of the surface layer of water in the equatorial Pacific Ocean that affect the global climate.
In general, climatologists note, what in oceans, which covers 70% of the globe, has been experiencing record heat for several months. And there is a high probability of the formation of a new El Niño in the second half of the year. This can lead to a destructive rampage of the elements in different parts of the world, they conclude.
