Roskomnadzor won't block Zuckerberg's Threads social network yet

Roskomnadzor reported that the agency has no plans to block the new Threads social network based on Instagram *. However, its future fate will depend on the implementation of the legislation and the ability to "shoot" the users. About it writes RBC.

The RKN noted that, at the suit of the Prosecutor General's Office, the court banned the activities of the American company Meta Platforms Inc. on the implementation of the social networks Facebook and Instagram * in connection with the implementation of their extremist activities. The new social network Threads does not appear in any way in the court order, which means it will not be blocked.

Threads went live on Thursday, July 6th. Social network mobile applications available on Google Play and the App Store.

Threads is positioned as a competitor to Twitter. On the social network, it will be possible to publish text messages, reply to them, like and share other people's posts in your profile. The account can be linked to Instagram*.
