Apple is preparing a smart monitor for Mac

It can be used even when the computer is in sleep mode.
Apple is preparing a monitor for Mac that will be able to control smart home devices independently of the computer. About it informs Mark Gurman, an insider from Bloomberg, in the new edition of the Power On mailing list.
Such a monitor will remain useful even when the connected Mac is in sleep mode. The screen will display notifications and the weather forecast, as well as smart home device control widgets.
This sounds like the new StandBy feature that announced for iOS 17 in June. It uses the iPhone 14 Pro's Always On feature to display widgets, clocks, calendar events, photos, and other information when the iPhone is not in use when the phone is locked.
In the new monitor, the Apple A series chip will be responsible for these capabilities. The idea is not new: Studio Display uses the A13 Bionic chip required to control the camera and sound. The next model will probably use a newer and more powerful chip.
According to Gurman, Apple is currently actively developing several more monitors, but there are no details about them yet. Probably, we are talking about the new generations of Studio Display and Pro Display XDR 2019. But it’s not worth waiting for them in the near future: according to the analyst, Apple does not plan to present new monitors before 2024.
