And you can watch it live on YouTube.
Sunday, June 25, near the Earth will pass near-Earth asteroid 2023 MU2. It will fly within 215,000 kilometers of us.
Although from an astronomical point of view this is a fairly close distance, the space object does not pose a threat to our planet, scientists say.
By data CNEOS, the asteroid has a diameter of 3.9 to 8.8 meters, which is about the size of a large private house or three-story building. The maximum convergence will occur at 20:19 Moscow time.
It is almost impossible to consider such an asteroid on your own. But 2023 MU2 can be seen by anyone. Rome-based astronomer Gianluc Masi will broadcast the event live on YouTube channel project "Virtual Telescope" (Virtual Telescope).
