Netflix showed a teaser of the series "The Chosen One" - about a boy with the powers of Jesus Christ

Streaming service Netflix has shared the debut teaser for The Chosen One, which has been in production since 2021. Last summer its production put on hiatus due to a fatal car accident involving a film crew.

This is an adaptation of the American Jesus comic book, which was written by Kick-Ass author Mark Millar. The plot tells about a 12-year-old boy who suddenly discovered his divine abilities. He can turn water into wine, heal the sick, and perhaps even revive the dead. Over time, the teenager learns that he is destined to resist the Antichrist.

Unlike the source material, the series is set in Mexico instead of the United States.

The Chosen One will be released on August 16th. The show will consist of six episodes.
