He even has a mobile app that shares the result with friends and family.
Israeli startup Salignostics has developed the world's first saliva pregnancy test. The set is called Salistick. And it's already approved for sale in the UK and Ireland.
The instructions that come with the product say to use the kit 30 minutes after drinking water or eating. The kit includes a swab to collect saliva. Rotate it in your mouth for 90 seconds, and then insert it into the analytical unit and that's it - after 5-15 minutes you have the result.
Salistick detects the same hormone that other commercial tests rely on: human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). It begins to be produced in the very early stages of pregnancy.
The company also thought about hygiene, so they developed a special application that shares the result with family and friends. You will no longer need to take a picture of the used test and post it on social networks.
Abingdon Health, which distributes the product in the UK, says Salistick is 96.32% accurate on the first day after a missed period and 97.35% on the second. It is worth noting that this is slightly lower than most conventional urine tests, many of which are as high as 99%.
Earlier, an Israeli startup conducted a study that showed that 68% of women surveyed would rather take a pregnancy test with saliva than with urine.
