Amazfit has launched its first runner-targeted watch, the Cheetah and its Pro version. Their main feature is Zepp Coach, a neural network-based virtual trainer that can create individual training plans for users.
Amazfit Cheetah Pro
The top version received a 1.45-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 480 × 480 pixels and AlwaysOn support. The display produces a peak brightness of 1000 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The smart trainer inside analyzes the user's physical condition and training history to fine-tune the weekly training plan. He also gives practical advice and analyzes progress. In some countries, users will also have access to a voice and text chatbot with which they can will talk like with a real coach - but this feature will be available by subscription (trial period declared).
There are also features tailored specifically for running: Virtual Pacer, Race Achievement Prediction and Track Run Mode. Virtual Pacer sets the AI recommended pace, and after a few runs, Race Achievement Prediction can predict how your next run will go. Track Run Mode is a special mode that displays time, distance and pace for each lap. It uses a special algorithm to match the displayed data as closely as possible to the real.
Health tracking is standard here: sleep, stress and oxygen levels in the blood, as well as heart rate.
The watch supports GPS and offline maps: you can create a route on your smartphone, sync with your watch, and use a bright map to navigate without an Internet connection.
Cheetah Pro supports more than 150 indoor and outdoor workouts, and automatically recognizes 25 exercise types. Water protection 5 ATM is present, so you can swim in the watch.
The bezel is made of titanium alloy and the bezel is made of fiber-reinforced polymer to keep the watch lightweight. The nylon strap is 22mm thick and will not get wet from sweat and is adjustable in length by 150-200mm. Due to the use of lightweight materials, the watch weighs 43 grams with a strap and 34 grams without it.
The novelty runs on Zepp OS 2.0 and supports more than a hundred applications. For connection, there is Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.3. Declared support for offline music playback, calls via Bluetooth and voice assistant Alexa.
The 440 mAh battery provides up to 14 days with a normal load and up to 7 days with an enhanced one, it will take 2 hours to fully charge.
Amazfit Cheetah
This is a simplified version, which received a smaller 1.39-inch screen by 454 × 454 pixels and a reinforced polymer bezel instead of a titanium alloy. The strap is silicone, which is why the watch weighs 47 grams (without a bracelet - 32 grams).
The rest of the changes boil down to the absence of a microphone and speakers, which made Bluetooth calls impossible. There is no Wi-Fi support either, otherwise the models are identical.
The manufacturer also announced a version of the Cheetah with a square dial, but there are no details or renderings yet.
