Google releases another emergency zero-day patch for Chrome
Miscellaneous / / June 07, 2023
Google released unscheduled emergency update for Chrome. A new zero-day vulnerability in the browser security system was discovered only on June 1, but it is already being actively exploited by attackers.
Error CVE-2023-3079 in the V8 JavaScript engine allows you to remotely access someone else's computer through a specially crafted HTML page. Google does not disclose technical details to minimize risks.
The emergency patch will be distributed to all users within a few weeks. However, the company recommends not to wait for an automatic update and update manually at any convenient time. To do this, go to the Chrome menu, open "Help" there and go to the "About Google Chrome" section. You need to restart the program to complete the update.
Remember, this is the third vulnerability zero day in Chrome this year.
