The author of "Black Mirror" tried to write a script using ChatGPT

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker told in an interview with Empire magazine, how he tried to experiment with ChatGPT. He came to the conclusion that the technology of generative AI so far only repeats after people, and does not create something of its own.

The first request I made was to generate an episode of Black Mirror. He gave me a text that at first glance reads quite convincingly, but at the second it turns out to be crap.

He concluded that ChatGPT simply looked at the synopses of all the episodes of the series and then mixed them together without coming up with a single original thought. He compared the result of the chatbot with the work of a parodist.

However, Brooker was still able to glean something useful from this experience. According to him, the generated texts became an anti-example for him, which shows how scripts should not be written.
