Charles Perrault's 'Sleeping Beauty' to be made into a horror film

ChampDog Films will film horror based on the fairy tale sleeping "Sleeping Beauty". Filming will begin in the UK in August this year. About it informs Bloody Disgusting portal.

The film will be titled Sleeping Beauty's Massacre. The producer and director will be Louise Warren, who worked on a horror adaptation of another famous fairy tale, called The Curse of Cinderella.

According to the plot of Sleeping Beauty, the beautiful Princess Thalia will be put to sleep by the evil Queen Velma, who claims the throne. To do this, she will resort to the help of dark forces and the occult. But one day the princess wakes up, and "twist after twist with bloody and inventive deaths will follow."

Director Louise Warren added:

This movie will turn everything you know upside down. It's wild, dark, and downright terrifying. I intend to create the most uncomfortable horror game to date. There will be game, blood and great slaughter. If you look back at the source material, you can see what you can play with.

Thalia will be played by a little-known actress Laura Hristova. She will star alongside Lila Lasso, Leah Glaiter, Robbie Taylor, Sophie Rankin, Charlotte Coleman and Judy Cherniak. The release date has not yet been announced.
