Apple announced about the closure of the My Photo Stream service. It will stop working on July 26th.
It's essentially the equivalent of iCloud Photos. It works on the same principle: it automatically uploads images from the last 30 days to the cloud and makes them available on all Apple devices. The only difference is that My Photo Stream retains full resolution on only one device, while lowering the quality of pictures on others.
The company recommends that all users move to the current photo library, i.e. iCloud Photos (where only 5 GB are available for free) over the next two months. And just in case, save all your pictures in it.
To do this on an iPhone, you need to open Photos, go to the My Photo Stream album, select the images you want and click the Share button, then save them to the desired folder. On a Mac, all you have to do is drag and drop pictures from one application to another.
