The case when it is better to check. Even if the video has more than a million views.
In the popular Twitter account Learn Maths, where tips for quickly solving mathematical problems often appear, recently appeared video, which demonstrates a simple way to extract the root.

The author of the video showed two solutions - he took the square root of 64 and 25 by adding the digits of each number and subtracting the degree of the root from the result. The third example he offered to solve for readers is to extract the cube root of 125.
The method he proposed allows you to quickly get the answer: (1 + 2 + 5) - 3 = 5.
In the comments under the video, many users wrote the correct answer, and some were surprised that they did not know about this life hack.
Why didn't high school teach me this sooner?
And really, why is this not given in school? Probably because there is no such rule, and this life hack is misleading - it only works with some numbers, as many commentators have pointed out.
Bro, this is what happens when you learn math on TikTok.
Please calculate the square root of 1024 for me. In this manner. Please.
This only works for a few numbers, but does not apply to all, such as 16, 36, 81….
When it doesn't work for all numbers, it's not a theorem, just a trick. Don't teach math this way. Never.
Only after some time, a corresponding note appeared under the publication stating that this is not a mathematical rule, and that it does not work with all numbers.
This is the case when people did not believe, but checked, and revealed misinformation. True, the video has already been watched by more than a million users, and more than a thousand have even been retweeted and bookmarked. We hope that they still reached the comments.
