Still not worth scratching.
Popular blogger JerryRigEverything (Zack Nelson) tested the strength of the newly introduced smartphone Google Pixel 7a. The novelty is different from the flagship duo Pixel 7 plastic case, but still showed impressive results.
Testing began with scratching the screen, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Noticeable traces appeared from a knife of the 6th level of hardness on the Mohs scale. The level 7 blade left deeper and more severe damage. In general, the indicators are standard for modern smartphones.
The metal frame of the case failed this test. And on the plastic back panel, as it turned out, you can easily draw with a sharp object.
After that, the blogger conducted a test with fire, singeing the smartphone screen with a lighter for 25 seconds. The gadget withstood this experiment with dignity - a greenish spot on the display nevertheless appeared, but it disappeared without a trace after a few seconds.
This was followed by a bend test. The device refused to break even with strong pressure from both sides. Nelson noted that the result was better than the Pixel 7 Pro, which is $400 (≈32,000 rubles) more expensive.
The author of the video concluded that the mid-range Pixel 7a surpasses the Pro model in all parameters of durability, which he also tested.
Recall, Pixel 7a is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display with a frequency of up to 90 Hz and two main cameras at 64MP and 13MP. The device received a 4300 mAh battery with support for wireless charging.
