Thing of the day: GoChess is an online chess board that moves the opponent's pieces on its own

You can move your own figures with your voice - just like in Harry Potter.
The creators of gaming gadgets Particula showed a new development - a GoChess chess board for playing with opponents on the Web. It's a simple looking board that uses magnets and mini-robots to move the opponent's pieces.
It is noteworthy that only one board is needed for this: the opponent can make moves through the application, while GoChess will display his moves on your physical board. It is also not necessary to move your pieces: you can say the move out loud, and the board will move everything for you.
The board supports playing against opponents from Lichness or Chess.com. You can also play against AI (32 difficulty levels are available). A learning mode is also available: it highlights the available moves on the board, highlighting the worst and best options with color.
The app saves a history of all games, tracks progress, and even gives tips on how to improve your skills.
Even playing on the go is supported: you can remove the top of the board with sensors and backlight so as not to carry a heavy base with you. True, the magic with the movement of figures will stop working: the robots will also remain in the base.
During the campaign on Kickstarter the standard GoChess 1XR (only one piece moves at a time) costs $259 for the plastic version, or $279 for the wooden version. A Lite version is also available without the board base and robots, it costs $199 or $219 depending on the type of pieces in the set. There is also a GoChess XR4 variant, where four pieces can move at the same time, it already costs $349 and $379 in plastic and wood, respectively. Orders are expected to ship in May 2024.
