Huawei introduced MateBook 14s and 16s laptops with 3:2 screens

At a presentation in China, Huawei showed a new generation of MateBook 14s and 16s in 2023. Both new items received 13th generation Intel processors: from Core i5 to Core i9, depending on the modification. The video card is built-in.

The differences between the models come down to screens, batteries and cameras, they are identical in terms of capabilities.

MateBook 14s received a 14.2-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2520 × 1680 pixels (3: 2 ratio), support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of up to 400 nits. The MateBook has a 16-inch screen, but its specifications, including resolutions, are the same as the 14-inch version. In both cases, the panels are touch sensitive and offer a 178º view.

The keyboard is full-sized with a backlight, a fingerprint scanner is built into the power button. Touchpads maltitach.

The set of ports for 14s and 16s is identical: one USB-a 3.2 Gen 1, USB-C, USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), HDMI and 3.5 mm for headphones. Both USB-C are suitable for charging, data transfer and connecting monitors.

The younger model received an HD webcam, 4 microphones and 4 speakers, while the older one already has FullHD, but 2 microphones and a speaker each.

The MateBook 14s has a 60 Wh battery and weighs 1.43 kg. The MateBook 16s comes with an 84Wh battery and weighs 1.99kg.

The laptops support the Super Device feature, Huawei's term for wired and wireless connectivity. connections between their laptops, tablets and monitors to work in conjunction with a minimum delay.

Both new items will go on sale in China on May 25, prices are already known.

Huawei MateBook 14s 2023:

• Core i7, 16 GB + 1 TB - 8199 yuan (≈93,200 rubles)
• Core i9, 16 GB + 1 TB - 8899 yuan (≈101,200 rubles)

Huawei MateBook 16s 2023:

• Core i5, 16 GB + 1 TB - 6999 yuan (≈79,600 rubles)
• Core i7, 16 GB + 1 TB - 8199 yuan (≈93,200 rubles)
• Core i9, 32 GB + 1 TB - 9999 yuan (≈113,700 rubles)

The older model will be available only in gray, while the younger one is also offered in green. An international release has yet to be announced.
