Netflix informedthat the premiere of the reality show Squid Game: The Challenge, based on the series of the same name "Squid gamewill take place in November. The release date was announced 17 months after the streamer gave the green light to the project.
The news was revealed at the Netflix Upfronts event. The show will be the largest of its kind. In it, 456 participants will compete for a cash prize of $4.56 million - the largest for a reality show.
The ten-episode series will see contestants compete in a series of games inspired by the series, as well as some brand new challenges. Each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves how far they will go. to win, with adventurous alliances, merciless strategies and well-timed betrayals, says the description.
The show was filmed in the UK. At the start of the project, the local Health and Safety Authority (HSE) reminded producers to proper risk planning when recreating a Korean blockbuster, but ultimately decided that there was no further control required. After all, this is just a reality show, not a real game where the losers die.
Recall that such a show is already launched a popular American YouTuber, but the prize fund there was 10 times smaller.
