The wrecked Titanic has been digitized for the first time in 3D

Now he seems to be resting in some kind of desert, and not in the deep darkness at the bottom of the ocean.
Scientists have created the first three-dimensional model of the sunken Titanic, lying at a depth of 3,800 meters in the Atlantic Ocean. Now they have the hope of finally finding out what exactly happened to the liner on the fateful night of April 14-15, 1912.
We don't really understand the nature of the iceberg collision. There is not even exact information whether the blow really fell on the starboard side, as shown in all films.

He added that this model was "one of the first major steps towards making the story of the Titanic scientifically sound, not speculative."
The Titanic has been explored since 1985, when its wreckage was discovered. But it is so huge that in the darkness of the depths, the cameras can only show us various parts of the decaying ship.
During this experiment, scientists were able to collect all the debris that is on the bottom around the surviving parts, and recreate the full view of the liner.
Scanning was carried out in the summer of 2022. Manned submersibles spent more than 200 hours studying the length, width and wreckage of the sunken ship. They took over 700,000 images from all angles, creating an accurate 3D reconstruction.
As a result, this work shows both the scale of the legendary liner and some small details, such as the serial number on one of the propellers.
The bow of the ship is now covered in a thick layer of rust, but even 100 years after the sinking, it is still easily recognizable. The boat deck is also distinguishable, where a gaping hole makes it possible to look into the void and see the front staircase (what is left of it).
But the feed is a chaotic mess of metal. Scientists consider this part of the ship the most important for unraveling the mystery of the crash. Having figured out the mechanism of the corkscrew impact on the seabed, they will find out what exactly happened to him on the surface.
Various objects are scattered in the surrounding debris field: decorative metal structures and statues from the ship, unopened champagne bottles. There are also personal belongings of passengers, including dozens of pairs of shoes.
Now historians can not worry that all this will be destroyed by water, microbes and years. Scanning literally froze the wreckage in time, and experts can study every minute detail without haste.
