"Listen, it's easy" - a podcast in which we understand explain complex processes and phenomena. The third season of the show begins with a tricky question. Do you know what Darth Vader from Star Wars, Lenochka Krylova from Carnival Night and politician Nelson Mandela from South Africa have in common?
At first glance, nothing. Vader and Krylova are fictional characters, Mandela is a real person. Vader is cruel, and Krylova and Mandela are generally good guys. They all existed in different universes at all, so there are no coincidences here either. And yet, there is something that unites them.
All three are affected by the phenomenon of false collective memory. What is it and why we can not always trust our own memories, we tell in the first issue of the third season of the show.
A lot of material has been written about the distortion of memories and why it is difficult to distinguish false from real ones. We found it particularly interesting article And TED Blog.
