The average user has 31 apps on their smartphone. And how much do you have?

German researchers from Bitkom Research conducted a survey among volunteers to find out how many applications they installed on their smartphones - in addition to those that were on the device out of the box. In total, responses were received from 780 users aged 16 and over. On average, the respondents had 31 additional applications installed. This is a significant increase from last year, when a similar survey averaged 25 applications.

Users aged 16-29 installed the most apps this year, with an average of 42. Moreover, the older the users, the less additional programs they have. The respondents older than 65 have an average of 19.

Only 8% of respondents have less than 10 non-standard applications on their smartphones. 17% have 10-20, 20% have 20 to 30, 22% have 30 to 50. More than 50 programs in 22% of respondents - against 16% in 2022.
