Apple Watch may sync with multiple Apple devices
Miscellaneous / / April 27, 2023
Apple works on an update that will allow Apple Watch users to pair their watch with multiple devices, including iPads and Macs. Now they can only be connected to the iPhone.
So far, the possibilities of synchronization are very limited. After pairing your Apple Watch with your iPhone, you can use it with your iPad with the same Apple ID. For example, to track a workout program Apple Fitness Plus on the tablet screen.
On a Mac, to unlock your computer, authenticate apps and view passwords, and authorize online Apple Pay transactions. But that's where the exceptions end.
This may change in the near future. The insider admits he doesn't yet know how this will be implemented, but iCloud sync could be one option, similar to how AirPods work on different devices.
Changes may be added as early as this year in watchOS 10, iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS 14, and may be postponed until 2024, the source noted.
MacRumors adds that this anonymous insider previously provided accurate information about Dynamic Island in the iPhone 14 Pro before the device was announced.
