1. Chernobyl. Chronicle of difficult weeks

Documentary filmmaker Vladimir Shevchenko managed to get to Pripyat in May 1986. Together with his team, he filmed everything that happened near the nuclear power plant for 100 days. A year after filming, he died of radiation sickness.
"Chernobyl. Chronicle of Hard Weeks is the first film about the Chernobyl disaster. It is also one of the most terrible - the frames show that many participants in the events have no idea what is really happening and what danger they expose themselves.
2. Bell of Chernobyl

The evacuation of residents, the work of doctors, the disinfection of houses - documentary filmmaker Rollan Sergienko filmed what happened in the "zone" in the first weeks after the disaster. Alla Pugacheva's concert, designed to instill confidence in the future, also hit the lens.
Initially, the film, shot by Sergienko, was supposed to remain on the shelf - it did not suit the officials. However, with the help of director Elem Klimov, the picture was shown in the USSR and Europe, and subsequently it acquired a cult status.

Journalist Alexander Zhuravlev is experiencing a crisis in family relations. Problems at work only exacerbate an already bad emotional state. An explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant forces Alexander to leave his comfort zone and go to Pripyat to find out the details of the tragedy.
Decay is the first feature film about the Chernobyl disaster. In many ways, it was he who determined the visual image on which subsequent paintings about Pripyat were built. This underestimated and an undeservedly forgotten film.

A high school student came to Pripyat to visit relatives right before the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. She meets a soldier who was sent to clean up the consequences of the disaster. The heroes fall in love with each other as their world collapses.
"Moths" is remarkable not only as a touching love story. The series scrupulously recreates the appearance of Pripyat. For example, Ikarus buses were assembled throughout Ukraine - it was on them that the residents of the city were evacuated in 1986. The main role was played by Yura Borisov, who later became one of the brightest Russian actors of the generation.
5. Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone

A team of stalkers find themselves in Pripyat and encounter local wonders. They have the opportunity to go into the pastto avert disaster. But they can’t even imagine what their decision will lead to.
"Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone” is a very bold series. It has an alternative past and an alternative future, all sorts of anomalies and miracles. After two seasons, it was closed, after which an unsuccessful film was released, completing the project.
6. Chernobyl. Fukushima. Life after
Tchernobyl, Fukushima, vivre avec

The film shows the life of people in places where man-made disasters occurred: in Pripyat and Fukushima. French documentary filmmaker Olivier Julien, along with scientists, is trying to figure out how to prevent similar situations in the future, and also explores the impact of the accident on ordinary residents.
The film was warmly received in the West, but in Russia it was translated rather late. Over the years, it is unlikely to have become worse - but attention to Chernobyl is now riveted more than before.

On April 26, 1986, a reactor exploded at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The management of the power plant is trying to convince the higher authorities that the situation is under control. Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Boris Shcherbina goes to Pripyat to solve the problem - scientists assure him that a terrible catastrophe has occurred.
The HBO series is arguably the best piece of fiction about the Chernobyl accident. In Russia project was received ambiguously, due to the fact that some saw in it criticism of the Soviet leadership, which hid the scale of the tragedy. But this is hardly a reason to refuse viewing.

Alexey Karpushin works as a firefighter in Pripyat. He is going to move from a small town with his beloved Olya. The accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant forces him to abandon his plans - Alexey agrees to participate in deadly operations to eliminate the disaster.
Movie Danila Kozlovsky (he also played the main role) failed at the box office: the fees practically did not exceed the budget (689 million rubles). The negative reaction of the audience can be explained by the fact that shortly before the premiere, a series from HBO was released, which showed the story much better.
9. After Chernobyl

A group of American students travels across the post-Soviet countries in search of the exotic. One of the stops is the city of Pripyat. Heroes face otherworldly forces that they knew nothing about.
"After Chernobyl" - an unsuccessful attempt to make horror based on the disaster in Pripyat. The shots taken in the exclusion zone did not affect the success of the picture: it collected less than 25 thousand dollars at the box office.
