IFixit disassembled the new iMac

The new iMac has already fallen into the hands of the staff of iFixit and they are good it was dismantled, taken out the verdict. For dissection were selected as 21.5 and 27-inch model. iFixit experts recognized that innovation has a lot in common with their predecessors. Structurally, it is the same iMac 2012: improved cooling system, two microphones and a special rubber mount that dampens vibration hard drive.

It uses a thin 5mm IPS-LED backlit display production LG Electronics. But, unfortunately, the new iMac took over from the previous model and low maintainability. iFixit awarded monoblock only 2 out of 10 possible points.

To assemble the monoblock Apple again used a foam adhesive. The same glue, because of which so iFixit complains about the company's products from Cupertino. The fact is that it greatly complicates dismantling of the device for repair. Samostayatelno only be able to replace the RAM and hard drive. However, Apple has improved the organization of the components iMac: hard drive and cables were combined, slightly simplified dismantling. As a result, the latest model iMac has even received a lower assessment of maintainability than last year's model.
