And the ability to directly install applications from third-party sources.
The Apple ecosystem is known for restrictions that are designed to keep users safe. One of these restrictions is the ability to install programs only from the App Store (at least without jailbreak). But the European Union obliged the company to open iOS to third-party app stores - and, according to data Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple will comply with the release of iOS 17.
According to the insider, although there will be few changes in iOS 17 itself, the announcement at WWDC will make a fuss precisely because of the message about the support of third-party stores. It will also be possible to run application files - as .APK on Android.
It is important to note that the announcement of these changes at WWDC does not mean that iOS 17 will support other stores and installation from third-party sources at release.
Perhaps at the presentation, the company will only announce to developers about the support of such a function in the future and give tools to create stores and applications that will comply with security requirements. Similarly, according to
data the same Gourmet, Apple will do with a mixed reality headset and xrOS system: first, the announcement and development of software, and only a few months later a public release.Read also🧐
