Apple ramps up production of the 15-inch MacBook Air. Release not far off?
Miscellaneous / / April 11, 2023
Perhaps the laptop will be shown at WWDC 2023.
By data Ross Young's Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst, 15-inch MacBook Air display manufacturing began in February, and in March the volumes increased. According to Yang, factories will need to ramp up production once again in April in order to ship enough laptops for an announcement in a few weeks.
The analyst notes that he does not know the exact timing, but suggests a presentation in late April or early May. At the same time, 9to5Mac sources talk about the announcement in June during WWDC 2023.
Earlier it was reported that in the 2023 generation of MacBook Air there will be two models: with screens of 13 and 15 inches. They will get the new Apple M3 chip - just like the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Considering that Apple will present both the new processor and the first computers with it, a full-fledged announcement at the conference is quite likely.
There are also rumors that Apple's first mixed reality helmet will be shown at WWDC. There have been reports of a new generation of Studio Display with a miniLED screen, but Yang's sources say the device has been delayed for now.
