Reminder banner, pin and call label: WhatsApp is preparing new features

According to the latest reports portal WaBetaInfo, a number of innovations may soon appear in WhatsApp. They are already being tested in beta versions of the messenger for Android. Here are the main ones.

Banner about the ability to send files up to 2 GB

WhatsApp increased the file sharing limit from 100 MB to 2 GB in May 2022, but not all users are still aware of this. To promote this feature, WhatsApp plans to add a reminder banner about the ability to transfer large files in one of the future updates.

Shortcut for quick access

Messenger users will be able to create a shortcut to call a specific contact from their list. This feature will save time and simplify the calling process for those who often call the same person and do not want to open the application and look for a contact every time.

Pinned messages

WhatsApp is also developing the ability to pin messages in chats and groups, making them easier to find in conversations. This will allow all participants to quickly open important documents or memos.

The timing of the implementation of these changes has not yet been reported, but usually when a feature is added to the beta version of the messenger in the stable version, it appears within a couple of months.
