Yandex is preparing its own version of the ChatGPT generative network

Yandex announced the development of YaLM 2.0, its version of the generative network ChatGPT. It will become part of the search engine, Alice, Mail and other services of the company.
Neural networks like ChatGPT generate text that is almost indistinguishable from human writing. At the request of the user, they can create both short notes and large articles or even software code snippets. Therefore, their use can be a breakthrough for search engines and voice assistants, the release says.
The hardest step in creating this type of AI is training them. In addition to computing power, a generative neural network needs to be provided with hundreds of thousands of ideal answers and repeat this learning process many times.
The implementation of YaLM 2.0 will allow search to generate answers using the knowledge of the entire digitized world. "Alice" will become smarter, better able to hold the context of the conversation and be able to answer more difficult questions. This could be a breakthrough in the quality of search engines and voice assistants.
To create a new generation of neural networks of the YaLM family, Yandex will use all of its supercomputers: Chervonenkis, Galushkin and Lyapunov, with a total capacity of more than 50 petaflops. These are the most powerful supercomputers in Russia and Eastern Europe.
