It can also be used as a very loud and heavy power bank.
Marshall is releasing a new Bluetooth speaker, the Middleton, which is sort of like the bigger, louder Emberton II. Like the older model, the novelty received protection against moisture and dust IP67.
If Emberton II uses two amplifiers of 10 W, then Middleton added two more 20 W each to them. Also here are a pair of 3.5-inch tweeters, 3-inch woofers and passive diaphragms. This provides the speaker with a range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz.
Marshall claims the Middleton can last up to 20 hours on a single charge. Moreover, you can connect a smartphone or other device to its USB-C port, using the speaker as a power bank. Middleton itself supports charging up to 15 W and replenishes the charge in 4.5 hours.
The device has dimensions of 109 × 230 × 95 mm and weighs 1.8 kg, which is significantly larger and heavier than the Emberton II (68 × 160 × 76 mm, 700 g). It is positioned as a cross between a home and a portable model: it will give a good sound at home, but if necessary, it is easy to take it with you on a trip.
Marshall Middleton will go on sale in Europe later today for 299 euros (≈22,900 rubles).
