In Russia, they want to create lists of banned and approved games

The government apparatus is asking the Prosecutor General's Office and ministries to evaluate ideas for protecting children from the "negative" influence of video games. In particular, it is proposed to create lists of approved and prohibited games. About it writes "Kommersant".

The idea was put forward by the profile commission at the Federal Assembly. Its participants are sure that popular video games contain “methods of influencing the consciousness and subconsciousness”, as well as “malicious programs and prohibited content”. Legislators did not give examples of such video games.

At the same time, the authors of the initiative proposed:

• oblige developers of online games to enter them “through Russian systems of identification and authentication”;
• include Russian parental control systems in the list of programs that must be pre-installed on “computer equipment”.

The head of the commission for the legal support of the digital economy of the Moscow branch of the AJUR, Alexander Zhuravlev, is sure that compiling black and white lists of games is a dead end. This can be seen from the experience of the Chinese authorities, who have destroyed their own gaming market for several years of severe censorship, he added.
