How to find a group on Viber

Viber has several options for joint conversations for users: group chats, open and closed communities. The first ones are intended for correspondence between acquaintances, when you need to quickly inform several people at once or discuss something with them. This group can contain no more than 250 users. All messages sent by any of the participants are visible in the chat.

Communities are not limited by the number of people, they are useful for large organizations or interest clubs. Administrators can block members, remove user content, and grant permissions to send messages.

Each of these associations has its own characteristics in the process of searching, which we will consider below.

How to find a group on Viber

Groups are closed associations, so you won’t be able to find them in Viber simply through a search. You must first join such a chat for it to appear on your list.

The administrator of the group can add you or send an invitation to join, and all members have the ability to send a link to the group to other users. Write to friends who are already members of this association, ask for help. If you do not have such contacts, then getting there will not work, unfortunately.

On a smartphone

The sequence of actions is almost identical for Android and iOS.

1. Open Viber on your smartphone.
2. Click on the button "Chats» in the menu below.
3. Click on the magnifying glass icon at the top.
4. Enter the topic of interest or the name of the community. An optional @ symbol can be used. Type it and immediately after it without a space - the name.
5. Select the desired community from the list provided. Click "Join" or "Subscribe" - you will become a member.

On the computer

In the PC version, the algorithm is also suitable for different operating systems.

1. Open Viber on your computer.
2. At the top left, in the "Search" field, type the name of the community or a suitable word for the topic, adding the @ symbol without a space in front of it.
3. Click on a community from the displayed list and click "Join".

The community you follow will appear in your conversation list. Use the search field to find them in the future.

Private

Private communities, like groups, are closed from direct access by users. You can find this in Viber only by a link or an invitation from the administrator.

A private community will appear in your list of chats only after you become a member of it. To gain access to such a closed club, you will have to contact the familiar administrators of this association.

Unlike group chats, in communities, members cannot add any new users themselves - they can only send invitations. You can only add people from your list contacts.
