A well-known insider spoke about the announcement of GTA 6 and the new PlayStation 5 in 2023

Famous insider Tom Henderson published a list of top five gaming predictions for 2023. He noted that some of this information is only his assumptions, but some of the data was confirmed by his sources. So, five major events next year.

Cloud Xbox announcement

Microsoft has long been preparing a cloud-based Xbox, known as Project Keystone for now. Its announcement has been delayed many times, but the project is definitely not abandoned, notes Tom.

It is definitely not worth waiting for the device in the coming months. It can be announced only at the very end of 2023, and brought to the market only a year later, that is, by the end of 2024.

The release of the updated PlayStation 5

The new Sony will be released much earlier – already in the first half of 2023. The start of sales is expected by autumn. It will be an all-in-one model with a removable drive that will reduce shipping and manufacturing costs and will eventually completely replace the standard PlayStation 5 model.

As Sony expects 30.5 million PlayStation 5s to ship in fiscal 2023, it can be assumed that the company predicts a significant increase in production in the coming year.

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard deal

The insider is not sure if this deal will finally be closed, but by mid-2023 it will already be known for sure whether Microsoft will receive the right to acquire Activision Blizzard.

Announcement of GTA 6

Tom is sure that next year will be the starting point for GTA 6, and this will probably be the biggest game announcement of all time. True, the presentation in 2023 means that the release will take place only in 2025 (as was the case with previous major Rockstar games).

Switch 2 announcement
