Empire magazine has compiled a list of the 50 greatest actors and actresses of all time.

The editors of Empire magazine asked readers to vote for the best actors and actresses of all time - movie screen stars who always succeed and whose unique abilities are impossible to reproduce. Based on the results of the survey, a list of 50 names was compiled in random order.

Among the men in the ranking were: Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Gene Hackman, Heath Ledger, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Christian Bale, Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, Al Pacino, Joaquin Phoenix, Morgan Freeman, Daniel Day-Lewis and others.

There are also a lot of big names on the list of actresses: Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Portman, Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeo, Meryl Streep, Florence Pugh, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Frances McDormand, Nicole Kidman other.
