However, this change may not affect all countries.
By data Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple plans to allow iPhone owners to install apps from third-party stores. This relief will be a forced measure - in response to a law passed by the European Parliament obliging Apple and Google to allow the installation of programs and games from alternative sources.
The company is committed to ensuring that the necessary changes are ready for the launch of iOS 17 next year, which will comply with the requirements of the new law. Whether this will be a global change or whether the amendments will only affect smartphones for EU countries is still a big question.
To help protect against insecure apps, Apple is discussing the idea of introducing certain security requirements even if the software is distributed outside of its store. Such apps must also be reviewed by Apple and fees may apply. In the App Store, the company receives from 15% to 30% of developers' income.
While lobbying for new European laws, Apple has argued that downloading apps from outside the App Store could lead to distribution of insecure applications on consumer devices and compromise privacy user data.
