The world premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water took place in London. Invited viewers have so far been banned from publishing reviews, but many have left short reviews of the picture on their social networks. And judging by them, James Cameron again managed to surpass himself - the picture is striking both visually and in terms of plot.
A few viewer reviews
“Never bet against James Cameron. His Avatar: The Way of Water surpasses the original on every level. Incredible visuals and a much stronger emotional connection to the characters and story. In the final hour, Cameron makes every muscle flex as he reminds blockbuster makers how to make movies."
Sean O'Connell
“Yes, never bet against Cameron. I'm trying not to exaggerate, but I've never seen anything like it from a technical and visual standpoint. It's amazing. Maybe too overwhelming. Sometimes I missed plot points because I was looking at Pandora's fish."
Mike Ryan
“Avatar: The Way of Water is an impressive combination of nature documentary and blockbuster: a gripping three-hour journey across the oceans of Pandora, based on deep feelings. And the unspeakably epic third act will make you hold your breath and cry.”
Zoë Rose Bryant
“I'm happy to say that Avatar: The Way of Water is phenomenal! It's bigger, better and more emotional than the first Avatar. Visually, the film is breathtaking, sensual and incredibly captivating. Plot, spectacle, spirituality, beauty - this is cinema at its best."
Erik Davis
“James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water is a monumental filmmaking that strikes a great balance between technique and emotion. The 48fps 3D mode provides one of the most amazing immersive experiences I have ever experienced. I felt like a kid watching Terminator 2 for the first time again. Amazing."
Kevin McCarthy
"James Cameron just knows what the audience wants and I think the time and effort put into making something so technically superior to the first film with even stronger emotional storytelling will pay off in large part. degree. The Oscars and box office records will not be long in coming."
Matt Neglia
“Avatar: The Path of Water is breathtakingly beautiful with the most incredible visuals I have ever seen (I watched in 3D); the story itself is weaker than the first, and seems to be drawn out for 3 hours and 10 minutes, but it is always a pleasure to watch, and the last hour is absolutely amazing.
Scott Mantz
“Unsurprisingly, Avatar: The Path of Water is a visual masterpiece with rich 3D use and breathtaking views. It suffers from a weak story and too many characters to juggle, but James Cameron brings them together for an extraordinary final act, full of emotion and gripping action."
Ian Sandwell
“Avatar: The Way of Water is a show worth 13 years of waiting. The water scenes humiliate any previous attempt to portray the underwater world in a blockbuster, and the third act is simply incredible. And now I have a weakness for unexpected homage to the Titanic.
