Sidekick Browser - a browser for working with quick access to web services

For users who work a lot with web applications and services, it is important to effectively interact with their tools without unnecessary actions. Sidekick Browser is designed to do just that - it helps you focus and quickly complete tasks. The program is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Sidekick is based on the Chromium browser, so it is similar to other web browsers with this core. The main element of the program is not the address bar, but the web application panel located on the left.

The sidebar in Sidekick is tied to navigating through web applications, viewing and turning off notifications, quick search in workspaces, and settings for the latter. Active programs are marked with dots, and the location of the icons can be changed as you wish.

Sidekick works in conjunction with Gmail, Telegram, WhatsApp, Notion, Jira, Gitlab and dozens of other useful services - any of them can be easily pinned to the side. It will also be possible to add a regular site there.

The browser supports user sessions with different accounts. This allows you to create isolated tabbed workspaces for different tasks. For example, you can use Sidekick for personal and work purposes, quickly switching between mail, calendar, and other services with different roles.

In the settings of web applications, you can manage the activity of launched services, the parameters of notifications shown to the user, and activate Split View. This is a mode in which the screen is automatically divided into a pair of areas with two open applications at the same time.

Another useful feature of the browser is the content search of all open tabs and web applications running in the sidebar. This feature is useful in a situation where you need to work with a large amount of web resources and data.

Sidekick uses a performance optimization system. The browser combines the duplicated windows of one site into one process and unloads inactive tabs from the computer's RAM. Switching unused tabs to sleep mode occurs automatically after the inactivity time specified in the settings (from 10 to 60 minutes). The main page of Sidekick displays the amount of memory saved. Individual sites and web applications can be added to exclusions.

For user privacy, the browser is built-in blocker advertising banners and tracking scripts.

Sidekick is available in a free version, but it has limits on the number of workspaces and web services that can be quickly accessed. The Pro version costs $96 per year or $12 per month.
